About The Hudson Chorale

The 70-voice Hudson Chorale, under the artistic direction of Music Director David Baranowski, is a collegial ensemble of men and women dedicated to the joy of music-making. Some of our singers have had extensive musical training, others less, but all our members have in common their passion for performing outstanding choral music at an exceptionally high standard. We range in age from college students to retirees, come from varied backgrounds, work in different fields, and come together from all over Westchester and surrounding areas.

Repertoire

Our repertoire includes a wide range of choral literature, from early music to contemporary pieces, from well known choral masterpieces to more unique works, including newly-commissioned compositions. The size of our chorus, the disciplined musicianship of our members, and the eclectic nature of our repertoire enable us to perform a broad range of music successfully, and to bring to every audience a rich musical experience.

Member Commitment

While our “normal” rehearsals have historically taken place on Monday evenings in person, we have successfully experimented over the 2020 and spring 2021 season with meeting via digital internet platform (Jamulus).

Our expectation for fall 2021 will be to return to in-person rehearsing (masked and vaccinated), each Monday night from 7:30 pm – 9:15 pm at All Saints Episcopal Church located at 201 Scarborough Rd., Briarcliff Manor, NY.

The chorus prepares two concert programs a year, one performed in January and another in June. Each program is typically performed twice, and always includes a minimum of one matinee. Details of each event are made available on our Events Info page.

Our Mission

The mission of the Hudson Chorale is to entertain and inspire audiences with a wide range of sacred and secular choral music, and to offer our singers a deeply satisfying opportunity to learn and perform this music at an exceptionally high standard.
