Come Sing With Us
Few things in life are as satisfying as joining a group of talented, enthusiastic singers and making beautiful music together every week. Since 2010, the Hudson Chorale, Westchester’s largest chorus (around 50-70 singers per season), has been performing in venues throughout the County, bringing the best in choral singing to the Hudson Valley.
Recent concerts have included traditional choral pieces such as the Brahms’ Requiem and Orff’s Carmina Burana, more contemporary works by composers such as Morten Lauridsen and Reena Esmail, and lesser-known gems such as Margaret Bonds’ Ballad of the Brown King and Fanny Hensel’s Hiob.
Our Season
The 2026-2027 season will offer two programs:
- Winter – January 23 and 24, 2026 at 3 p.m. at Irvington Presbyterian Church: selections from Bach’s Christmas Oratorio and Elaine Hagenberg’s Illuminare.
- Spring – The program will feature the premiere of a new piece by Lila Meretzsky among other works. The date and venue are still to be determined
Member Commitments
Rehearsals are every Monday, 7:15-9:30 pm at Union Church of Pocantico Hills, 555 Bedford Rd, Tarrytown, NY.
We rehearse in person (masks now optional), while our Board continues to monitor the COVID situation and follow CDC guidance. Rehearsals are recorded so those who under the weather or travelling can keep current. Members may access rehearsal notes at https://hudsonchorale.org/join-us/members-only/.
Dues: $150 per semester with music purchases as incremental fees as needed. Members support the activities of the Hudson Chorale by selling tickets, selling ads in the concert programs, and participating in the Chorale’s various fund-raising activities.
Volunteering: Many members also volunteer to help with such activities as concert coordination, publicity, hospitality, and Board leadership. This support is not only helpful to the group, it is also a wonderful way to get to know other members of the Chorale. Membership in the Hudson Chorale is open to all singers in all voice parts.
Auditions: Singer-friendly auditions for new members are held at the beginning of each concert semester (contact Jeannewygant@optonline.net).
Members come from Westchester and neighboring counties and represent a broad range of ages and vocations. All of us share a love of singing. While it is not necessary to have a professional level of musicianship to participate, some prior music training or experience is helpful in enabling each singer to master the music and have a positive experience.
